Ursula Rutherford

At the 2009 AGM Ursula took on the role of Branch Treasurer – just as the BCS altered the financial year and many aspects of branch budgeting! Ursula remained Branch Treasurer until our 2016 AGM when Gary Walton took over as Treasurer.

Ursula is a STEM ambassador and is involved in Imagineering (http://imagineering.org.uk/get-involved/).

After many years as a software developer for large internationals, Ursula went back to school to gain a BSc Hons, a Postgraduate Diploma in Computing and, most recently, a Masters in Information Technology for Management. To ensure her qualifications weren’t purely academic, she gained the ISEB Foundation certificate in Software Testing and also became a PRINCE2 Practitioner and a Certified ScrumMaster. Her work is now an interesting mix of technical writing and proof-reading, tutoring for the Open University and providing learning support for disabled students.

Ursula is a Member of the BCS, a Member of the Womens Engineering Society (WES) and a Member of the Institute for Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC).
