Top that we will, Christmas 2009...

Roger Penrose has agreed to talk to us 9th December 2009.

Needless to say, keep watching for details!

Branch open meeting breaks all records

Well, if you weren't there you missed a very engrossing and interesting meeting about the software development process for computer console games. 51 people signed in (yes, 51), 17 BCS members and 34 visitors. Thanks to Blitz Games for a great talk. On a slightly different tack, our January meeting will be "Serious Games", Blitz games are also involved in that arena, and apparently had provided our speaker with some examples in the past.

Coventry Branch - Carbon Footprint targetted

With the latest branch flyer, the Coventry Branch have avowed to cut their carbon footprint by an active reduction in the number of branch flyers sent out twice a year by the Branch. Branch is asking members to consider if they really want a paper copy of the branch flyer, or if they would be happy to receive it by email.

Coventry Chairman, Don Stewart, has asked branch members to email him` to confirm they require the paper copy.

For each flyer not sent, the BCS also saves the cost of the envelope and more importantly the cost of the stamp. Postage for the Branch flyer is the single biggest expense the Branch has.
